Messaging on the Platform

Rules around our messaging system

Using the Messaging System on CGHero

Our messaging system is designed to keep projects secure, professional, and clearly documented from start to finish.

If your message is flagged, it is usually because it contains external links or contact details.

Below is how to move forward smoothly while staying within platform guidelines:

Common Message Flagging & Workarounds

  • Sharing Your Portfolio
There is no need to direct clients outside of the platform to share your profile. Adding work directly to your CGHero profile allows you to seamlessly and immediately share with clients.

Your portfolio is automatically visible during the quoting process, and you can select up to three featured pieces to highlight when submitting a quote.
Keeping your portfolio up to date improves your visibility, strengthens your credibility, and increases your chances of winning projects.

  • Communicating on Platform
We offer a simplified messaging system on platform that keeps a backup of messages exchanged and allows you to share important updates and files during the process of working together.

Creative projects often involve evolving scope, revisions, timelines, and payments. Keeping all communication on-platform ensures:

    • A complete and searchable project record

    • Clear scope and milestone tracking

    • Protection in the event of disputes

    • Secure escrow handling of funds

    • Accountability for both parties

There is no production for communication outside of the platform and CGHero are unable to support in resolving any potential disputes or communication challenges. For this reason, messaging must remain within CGHero at every stage.

Why Payments Must Stay on CGHero

CGHero is a small, independent team dedicated to connecting top creative talent with exciting projects. Our platform fee allows us to sustain and improve the marketplace, ensuring freelancers find work and clients access the best talent.

Keeping payments on-platform also safeguards freelancers from working without pay. Funds in escrow provide security, ensuring fair compensation for completed work.

Without payments going through CGHero, we simply cannot continue to exist. Keeping work and payments on-platform allows us to grow, invest in better tools, and provide a thriving space for global collaboration.
